How To Install Fence Capping

How To Install Fence Capping. Been making a list of the components i need to make a closeboard fence down the side of my house. For the installation, you’ll need your colorbond infill panels, fence capping, screws and top and bottom rails for materials.

I normally nail the back edge of the capping so it is flush with the counter rail. This will only work if the posts are high enough though. Rock 400mm 1 bag per hole (20kg bag) clay/firm earth 600mm 2 bags per hole (20kg bags) sand/loose fill 900mm 3 bags per hole (20kg bags) the preferred method of cutting sheets is to use a nibbler or tin snips.

Curving fielders offer a wide range of curving to offer you freedom in your designs.

The capping is slightly tapered to allow for overlapping. 5 before you order • sections 4, 5 & 6 are about selecting the right components in order to get the fence you want. I would like to add a wooden top cap, but can't think how this is supposed to attach to the top of thin feather edge boards.

If you have capping on your fence the easiest way to install is to cut off any exposed posts, if you have them.

Double lipped fence capping 140x45 has been designed for fences with palings on both sides. Rock 400mm 1 bag per hole (20kg bag) clay/firm earth 600mm 2 bags per hole (20kg bags) sand/loose fill 900mm 3 bags per hole (20kg bags) the preferred method of cutting sheets is to use a nibbler or tin snips. I normally fix them with an air nailer, but it should be simple to clamp it on and then nail it through the face of the feather edge.

Once you’ve applied the adhesive, press the cap firmly on top of the post so the adhesive spreads over the surface of the post and seals around the perimeter.

Remove any obstructions, old fence post including concrete etc. This will normally be 600mm (2foot) deep, and the width of the spade. Roniak piling uses top to bottom concrete spraying method, so the concrete is only sprayed ¾ of the width of the capping beam leaving the front ¼ exposed.

Mark out the post holes run a string line the length of the fence and dig the first hole.

Once all the panels are in place, you can then install the fence capping which secures the panels in place and finishes off the job. It’s easiest to screw in from the rail side if you can, as with most capped fences the rail will sit flush with the top of the cap. I normally nail the back edge of the capping so it is flush with the counter rail.

Footings should be flat or tapered at the top. Best way is have the top rail at the correct height for the capping and nail or screw through the capping into the rail. You'll need to add another rail right at the top of the pickets to fix the capping to.
